STREETWISE Exhibition

The STREETWISE exhibition took place on the 23rd of April 2016 at the Averard Hotel, an abandoned Hotel on the northern edge of Hyde Park, London.

The show was a celebration of work that documents the human condition through street photography. We displayed analoguedigital, and mobile phone prints making no distinction between the three media.

The aim was to blur the lines between these methods of productionand suggest that rather than premise photography's death as a 'serious' art form, the medium's recent democratisation may bring something new to the table.

Henry Garriock

Henry spent the last four years documenting and facilitating a cultural exchange program (Ub Ubbo) that creates a platform for communication between artists from the Central West of New South Wales, Australia and the Cordillera (Mountain Province) of Northern Luzon, Philippines.

The series 'Transient' attempts to illustrate the true memories we take on board whilst roaming far away lands as opposed to the false 'post-card' representation we are sold on billboards and bus stops. This was achieved  by shooting the series from the passenger seat of a van, during three separate trips to the Cordillera of Northern Luzon.
